Typical of border collies, Brooke is terrified of thunder. Lightening doesn't phase her, but let her hear a distant thunderclap and she runs looking for a place to hide. The hiding place has to be right under my feet if she can manage it. Otherwise, it's under a desk or other table that is as close to me as she can get. Poor thing. My last dog, Ginger, was not a border collie but was also terrified of thunderclaps. Yoshi the boxer doesn't seem bothered by thunder at all.
Speaking of Yoshi the boxer, I have photos to show you of him and Brooke playing tug-of-war.
Brooke does enjoy Yoshi's so, and Yoshi her. They are great pals. Although a small pup in September, he has outgrown Brooke big time. He is even larger now than in the photos. She can walk underneath his tummy if she so chooses, which she does if it's her only way of getting around him.
Although Yoshi is larger in size, Brooke still controls the one-dog herd and barks and pushes him into place when she wants him to obey our commands that he ignores. Brooke loves to please people. Yoshi doesn't realize how big and intimidating he is and thinks he is a lap puppy still.
Thanks for sharing your babies with us, Vernita! So glad to hear that Brooke is fully en-joying her life! Bless you for giving her this chance!
I didn't know border collies were often scared of thunder. Hmmm... maybe my dog Simba is more border collie then flat-coat retriever. He's TERRIFIED of thunder!
